Western Dressage
Lynette's goal for Western Dressage, like classical dressage, is to develop a soft, supple, athletic horse with exceptional balance in all maneuvers. Riders compete in western saddles and tack. Western Dressage horses start at Intro Level which is walk/trot and continue to move up the levels. At the top levels horses perform flying lead changes, canter half pass and more.

Western
Dressage is a fast growing sport that showcases the talent and
partnership of western horses and riders. The Western Dressage
Association of America (WDAA) states that the goal of Western Dressage
is "to develop a partnership between a happy equine athlete working in
harmony with his rider." This has been Lynette Weldon's philosophy for
her entire training career. It's this horse-first attitude that
attracts so so many riders to Western Dressage and to lesson and clinic
with Lynette.

Lynette putting a training ride on one of her young horses Axel. Axel has been started in the traditional Vaquero way riding only in a bosal until he is ready physically and mentally to carry a bit. One of the things Lynette likes about Western Dressage is that they recognize traditional western training methods and allow a horse to progress at its own pace.

2015
Six show team members and six horses competed in Dog Days Dressage at the Washington County Fairgrounds. Josalin and Roulette debuted at First Level while Ruby and Kaiden showed at Intro and Training Level. Ruby was proud to win 3 ribbons in competitive classes of all ages! Our Western Dressage riders put in excellent rides all earning ribbons with Hanna brining home a first in her walk/trot test with Boo (and being the only youth rider against adults)! Lynette and Axel settled in for a solid ride and second place and Sophia and Benny also had winning rides.

We always look forward to dressage and western dressage shows. Dressage is an excellent sport for riders who love to learn and have fun. If you would like to know more come visit us and talk to Lynette or Ruth to get started- we have English and Western horses available for lease.
